Taapsee Pannu: “Thank God, I wasn’t auditioned”
On spilling beans about the film industry Taapsee Pannu talks about her debut in the Hindi film industry and her roles in acting.
Previously the actress had given us many blockbuster films. She is an established actress, She has proven herself as an outstanding actress by the films like Thappad, Pink, Naam Shabana and etc.
The actress said,had she needed to struggle for the roles in the cinema, she wouldn’t have lasted long .
In 2013, Tapsee made her Bollywood debut in ‘Chashme Baddoor’ , directed by David Dhawan. But it was not her first movie in her career, she made her acting debut in 2010 which is a Telugu movie named as ‘Jhummandi Naadam’ and later acted in ‘Aadukalam’.
Talking about the main topic,she said “If I had to struggle for roles, I wouldn’t have lasted in this field for so long.”
On spilling beans about her Bollywood debut she stated, “Thank God I wasn’t auditioned for the film. I haven’t learnt the craft formally, my training is all on-set. I would have failed miserably. I was known as the girl who has the ‘Preity Zinta vibe’ which is why I even got a Bollywood break.”
Talking about her characters in the film she talked about how people are expecting more from her and how she’s handling the people’s expectations. She stated “People now expect my work to be interesting and worth their time, so I can’t do four films a year and look and sound the same in all.”
She further added that being a female, she can’t afford to do a film in a year.
“Being a female actor I cannot afford to do just one film a year. I wish I had that luxury. But I cannot turn my life upside down for a role. I bore quickly, so new roles and new places help. Fame is not important…I am the modern young woman. My roles represent that. People should be able to relate to my character,” she added.
Beside that Taapsee is doing multiple projects together. In a upcoming movie called “Shabaas Mithu” which is based on the life of a Indian female ODI team captain Mithali Dorai Raj.
